Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before using VFindR. By accessing this Site you agree to be bound by them.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the VFindR website at vfindr.co.uk ("the Site"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site following any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
About VFindR
VFindR is operated by VFindR Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The Site provides a community-powered platform with three core features:
- A Stolen Vehicle Database — allowing users to submit and search reports of stolen vehicles.
- A Sightings Tool — allowing users to log reports of suspicious vehicle activity in their area.
- A Vehicle Business Directory — allowing members of the public to find, and vehicle trade businesses to list, vehicle-related services across the UK.
VFindR is a community supplement only. It is not an official law enforcement tool, emergency service, or substitute for reporting crime through proper police channels. All stolen vehicle and sighting reports are stored locally in the user's own browser and are not transmitted to or monitored by VFindR, police, or any authority.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Site. Users aged 13–17 should have parental or guardian consent. By using the Site, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
The Site is intended for use by residents of the United Kingdom. We make no representation that the Site or its content is appropriate or available for use in other jurisdictions. If you access the Site from outside the UK, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Community Reports — Stolen Vehicles & Sightings
4.1 Nature of Reports
Reports submitted through the Stolen Vehicle and Sightings features are stored locally in your browser only (using localStorage). They are not transmitted to VFindR's servers, are not monitored by VFindR, and are not shared with police or any authority. VFindR does not verify the accuracy of any report submitted.
4.2 Your Responsibilities as a Reporter
By submitting a stolen vehicle report or sighting, you confirm that:
- The information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- For stolen vehicle reports, the vehicle belongs to you or you have authority to report it on behalf of the owner.
- You will always report vehicle theft to the police (101 or 999 in emergencies) in addition to submitting a report on VFindR.
- You will not include any information that you know to be false, misleading, or defamatory.
- You will not use the report system to target, harass, or harm any individual or business.
4.3 No Police Monitoring
VFindR community reports are not monitored by any police force, law enforcement agency, or emergency service. Do not use VFindR in place of reporting to the police. VFindR accepts no liability for any loss or harm arising from a user's failure to contact police directly.
4.4 False Reports
4.5 Safety
Never approach a suspicious vehicle or attempt to recover a stolen vehicle yourself. Always maintain a safe distance and let the police handle such situations. VFindR expressly discourages any vigilante action.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Site or any of its features to:
- Submit false, fabricated, inaccurate, or misleading information of any kind.
- Harass, intimidate, stalk, or threaten any individual or business.
- Submit reports about a vehicle, person, or business with the intention of causing reputational damage or harm.
- Collect or harvest any personal data from the Site or other users.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically download content from the Site.
- Introduce malware, viruses, or other malicious code to the Site.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security measures on the Site.
- Use automated bots, scripts, or other tools to submit reports or listings at scale.
- Post or transmit any content that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
- Impersonate VFindR, any VFindR employee, or any other person or entity.
- Use the Site in any way that violates applicable UK or international law.
We reserve the right to remove any content and block access for any user who, in our reasonable judgement, violates these Terms.
Business Directory
6.1 Vehicle Trade Only
The VFindR Business Directory is exclusively for businesses operating within the vehicle trade in the United Kingdom. This includes garages, bodyshops, recovery operators, vehicle security installers, tyre fitters, auto electricians, parts suppliers, valeting services, commercial vehicle dealers, motorcycle specialists, driver training providers, and related services. Businesses operating outside the vehicle trade will not be approved.
6.2 Listing Accuracy
By submitting a business listing, you confirm that:
- You are authorised to list the business and the information provided is accurate and not misleading.
- The business is a genuine, trading UK business operating in the vehicle trade.
- You will notify us of any changes to your listing information by contacting info@vfindr.co.uk.
- The listing does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- The contact details provided (email, phone) are business contact details, not personal residential details.
6.3 Review and Removal
All business listing submissions are reviewed by VFindR before going live. We reserve the right to decline, remove, or edit any listing at our sole discretion, including where we have reason to believe the listing is inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, or outside the vehicle trade sector.
Listing on VFindR does not constitute an endorsement of the listed business by VFindR. VFindR makes no warranty as to the quality, reliability, or suitability of any listed business.
6.4 Public Display
Approved business listings and all information contained within them will be displayed publicly on the Site and may be indexed by search engines. Do not include personal residential addresses or personal email addresses in any listing.
6.5 No Commercial Relationship
A free business listing on VFindR does not create any commercial, employment, agency, or partnership relationship between the listed business and VFindR. VFindR is not a party to any transaction between a user and a listed business.
Intellectual Property
7.1 VFindR Content
All content on the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, the VFindR name and branding, the shield logo, code, and design — is the property of VFindR Ltd or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 Your Content
By submitting a business listing, you grant VFindR a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and distribute the content of your listing on the Site for the purpose of operating the directory. This licence terminates upon the removal of your listing.
7.3 Community Reports
As stolen vehicle and sighting reports are stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to our servers, no licence is granted to VFindR for such content.
